Multi-tenant AI SOC products, and what they mean if you buy from an MSSP

The short answer

2 of the 13 vendors we profiled describe offerings built for managed security providers: Dropzone AI has an MSSP tier with a dedicated multi-tenant environment, and Conifers says CognitiveSOC is multi-tenant from the start. If you buy security from an MSSP, ask whether your provider runs an AI SOC product behind its service, which one, and what it changes for you.

Why does multi-tenancy matter here?

An MSSP serves many customers from one team. To use an AI SOC product, it needs one deployment that keeps each customer's data and settings apart while letting its analysts work across all of them. That is what multi-tenant means in this context. Among the 13 vendors profiled, 2 describe it: Conifers CognitiveSOC and Dropzone AI.

What do the two vendors describe?

Dropzone AI publishes three tiers: Standard; Enterprise, with a dedicated single-tenant environment; and MSSP, with a dedicated multi-tenant environment. Its Standard tier is described as up to 4,000 full investigations per year per AI analyst, with unlimited users. It also offers an EU data residency option.

Conifers says CognitiveSOC is "multi-tenant from the start" and that "MSSPs run dozens of tenants". It runs as SaaS on Conifers-hosted Azure or as private cloud in a customer's own Azure tenant, with processing in the chosen Azure region; it opened a Singapore region in July 2026, alongside North America and Europe.

What does this mean for an MSSP's customers?

If you buy MDR or managed SOC services, your provider may already run, or soon run, an AI SOC product behind its service. That can change the service you receive:

  • More alerts get a first pass, because software reads every alert rather than a sample.
  • Verdicts may come with a recorded evidence trail you can ask to see.
  • Your data now sits in one more system: the provider's AI SOC tenant.

What should you ask your provider?

  1. Do you use an AI SOC product for our alerts, and which one?
  2. Is our data in a separate tenant, and in which region is it processed?
  3. Can we see the verdict record for an alert, including the evidence and steps?
  4. Which actions does the software take alone, and which need your analysts?
  5. If we leave, what happens to our data in that product?

What does it mean for the model choice?

It blurs MDR and the AI SOC analyst model from the provider side, the way managed options blur it from the vendor side. A company choosing MDR may in practice be buying AI SOC software plus a provider's people. That is not a problem, but it is worth knowing, because the questions about data, verdict records and exit then apply twice: to the provider and to the software behind it.

What if you are the MSSP?

Then the multi-tenant design, regional processing and per-tenant settings matter more than any single feature. Ask how tenants are separated, how analysts switch between them, how per-customer response approvals are set, and how billing maps to your own contracts. Neither vendor publishes list prices, so the pricing unit is the first commercial question.

What we did not cover

We do not know which MSSPs or MDR providers use which AI SOC products. This post describes what two software vendors publish about their MSSP offerings, as read on 27 September 2026.

What about regions and residency?

Both vendors describe data location choices: Dropzone AI an EU residency option, and Conifers processing in the customer's chosen Azure region, with regions in North America, Europe and Singapore. For a company buying through an MSSP, the relevant question is which region the provider chose for your tenant, and whether you were asked. If your contracts or regulators care about where data is processed, put the region in writing with the provider, not only with the software vendor behind it.

The same applies to compliance reports. Dropzone AI lists SOC 2 Type II, and Conifers lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001, on the pages we read. Those reports cover the software vendor; your provider's own controls need their own evidence.
